about

Clearing out some boxes and found an old CD-R marked 'The Doubters'. Threw it in the drive and I hear the familiar opening of The Hallelujah Revolver.

Now, my memory might be a little hazy, but I'm fairly certain we recorded this in late 2009 or January 2010 with Chris Alexander at Arc Studios in Glasgow after being happy with how The Doubters EP sounded.

I (definitely) might be wrong, but I think we were talking about recording what would have been The Doubters album, but we never made it beyond this track.

I think there was a feeling that an additional guitarist would have been a big help and after identifying someone we thought would be a good fit, we never got back into the studio in any meaningful way for one reason or another and we sorta ended up quietly disbanding.

Anyway, although I prefer the version that ended up on Ten Fires, I'm glad I found this. Evolution of a song and all that.

I'm sure Frankie and Robert will be glad it's found, too.
