This one has been hanging around on a notepad + rehearsals since 2007 or so. It never felt like a Jim Dead song, so it just kinda got thrown to the side, but there's a lot of honesty in here that shouldn't be discarded, y'know?

When I decided to revisit some old songs this was one that just cropped up when I lifted the guitar. I guess the learnings from the various projects I’ve done brought this one to this song cycle. Not limiting myself to a particular style or such… + it's maybe my favourite here. Maybe.

As well as Craig’s work recording + mixing, he also helped shape the track. He got the vibe. The ramshackle nature. The drunkenness of it. We discussed the 'texture'... the guitars... it was a bit off kilter. He laid down the bass + percussion.

"I was trying to add bass to a new idea of mine, and struggling, so had a go at Head Full... in case it sparked something. It didn't as it turns out, but there are now bass frequencies present on HFoN."

I asked my good pal Traquair if he would be interested in doing something on this, cause I love his vocals. It's a big part of his sound + I felt it could really take the track somewhere. He was working on his own album, so no pressure if it didn’t suit. But he took the track away + put some ideas together.

I loved it right away... the harmonies themselves sounding like another instrument. Bringing a bit of a Beach Boys Love You / Wild Honey vibe.

For as long as this was hanging around, it was never this complete.
